HOW IT'S DONEIn a regular panoramaHere is an example of a simple use of an often encountered user case: removing a tripod from an equirectangular panorama. ! r. h' M2 P& f% y
This type of treatment required the use of Photoshop masks, either on the source images, or in post-processing, and in either case this workflow could be rather tedious. : ]/ G- Y8 N+ S4 R4 N. A/ r

Open the folder of the source images. We can see that they were taken with a fisheye lens and that we have three shots for the nadir. z* k9 k2 Q( X! G3 C8 S8 u
Doubling the shot is sufficient in most cases, but here, an extra photo was taken in to be sure to have the coverage to remove the tripod. 7 s% l& O. d: H0 e8 p5 G
After the stitching, open the panorama editor. 9 h! g) t, S( G0 O
Move the panorama using the Move tool, to have the nadir neatly in the center.

Here is the result using the Preview tool: the tripod has disappeared! 3 clicks were enough to achieve what would have required an average of 10 minutes with Photoshop!

/ V3 p) q( H$ PThis case is a good example to illustrate that the Masking tool doesn't do miracles, and if there is not the sufficient coverage that is required, some parts may remain. 7 Y7 r8 N( d! M' m: r! k
In this case: one of the tips of the tripod's leg, none of our images allowed us to cover it completely.
( U$ z4 q8 a4 h/ H3 CThis minor leftover is easy to edit out afterwards using Photoshop, than if you had to remove the tripod completely using Photoshop. 5 {3 y2 K7 L# w5 \
